To provide our location sharing service, we collect:

- Profile Information: Profile picture and status message (optional)
- Location Data: Your GPS coordinates when you use the app
- Content: Messages, photos, and videos you share in Pings and Journeys
- Device Information: Push notification tokens for sending you alerts
How We Use Your Information
- Share your location with friends you've connected with
- Display your position on the map for your friends
- Send notifications about friend requests, messages, and calls
- Enable Pings, Journeys, and direct messaging features
- Improve and maintain the app
Location Sharing
Your location is only shared with friends you've accepted. Strangers and other users cannot see your location. You control:
- Whether to grant location permissions
- Whether to enable background location tracking
- Which friends can see your location (by accepting/removing friends)
Data Storage & Security
- Your password is encrypted and never stored in plain text
- Location data is stored to show your last known position to friends
- Journey waypoints are stored to display your travel route
- Messages and media are stored on secure servers
Data Retention
- Your account data is kept until you delete your account
- Pings automatically expire after 1 week unless marked as persistent
- Journey data is kept until you delete the journey
- Location history is continuously updated (not stored long-term)
Your Rights
You can:
- Access your data through the app
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Remove friends to stop sharing location with them
- Revoke location permissions at any time
Third-Party Services
We use:
- Expo Push Notifications: To deliver push notifications
- OpenStreetMap: For map tiles and display
We do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
Children's Privacy
Inner Circle with Friends is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app.
